BIRD CALL? & OFF TO NZ

Hi everyone and Happy New Year to you all. I have really enjoyed reading the forum every day. The last few days have been amazing before 6am around here, just full of every different type of bird we have available. There is a bird whose call is beautiful ( shorter but as melodic as the butcher bird) It does two notes only, long and mournful , the first is a low one and the 2nd is longer and a high note. We are in a woodland rainforest area in Qld.
Any ideas?
Today we are flying to NZ, so I will have to content myself with the Godwits on the mudflats and listen to the thrushes and blackbirds.
It will be quiet compared to our surroundings here which are filled with birdsong form dawn dusk.

Cheers

Adrienne

Hi Birdie

Does the call sound like the one here for the Little Grassbird. I've ALWAYS described this call as 'mournful' and although it's three notes with the grassbird, it may help

Scroll down the page to the 'call' section.

This particular call is one I recorded at Laratinga Wetland, Mt Barker, SA a couple of months ago.

Oops. Don't know what happened here. I got an error message when posting and the link wasn't complete. Trying again
