Research resulting from a collaboration between Australian and UK scientists has shown that male birds that exhibit ‘shy’ social behavior are much more likely to join flocks of birds with a similar personality than their ‘bold’ male counterparts. The research is one small part of a larger project involving monitoring thousands of birds fitted with tags that are detected by sensors at 65 feeding stations.
