jabiru
10-Oct-2008 6:06 PM

Hi everyone
This jabiru was taken from the backyard of my brothers house, he backs on to a water catchment so makes for a good place to take photos. Just a question, birds in this forum are only from backyards or all Australian birds.
I hope i get it right this time.

G'day Peter,
.
nice photos of the Jabiru. It looks as though your brother lives near a perfect habitat for waterbirds. Keep the photos coming.
.
Cheers,
.

Really nice photo's. Especially the 3rd one that shows the under wing.
What other birds have you had the opportunity of seeing at that spot?

Thank you Gelmir. The access to this site is not good, so you have to wait for the birds to come to you.You also have to wait for rains to fill up this part of the catchment so you only have a small window of opportunity to catch water birds in this area. I'm still learning to identify birds but have seen different species of ducks, egrets and of course the jabiru.
