Melbourne Bird Photographers: National Rhododendron Garden

Another meetup where we join the Melbourne Nikon Lovers Group (but you don't have to have a Nikon). The Dandenong Ranges taken on amazing colours in the Autumn time, and it's also the home of many different bird species.  The Lyrebird can be seen at both the Rhododendron Gardens and also George Tindale Gardens.

There are several paths to walk and a tripod may well be in order. Some paths require good hiking shoes but other paths are fairly flat.

Melbourne Bird Photographers: Grants Picnic Grounds

Always a favourite for birders and tourists. There is a place you can feed the birds but if we wander along the tracks you may get to see lyrebirds scratching around as well as many other birds. What have I seen at Grant's picnic grounds?

Kookaburras
Sulphur-crested cockatoos
Corellas
Galahs
Crimson Rosellas
King Parrots
Lyrebirds
Eastern Yellow Robins
and I'm sure there are many others too
