Bird of the Week Challenge - 27th April: captions

Bumper challenge last week - well done everyone. There were some amazing shots!

This week I thought it would be good to get some more collaborations going with some captions. Here is the deal - post a photo, and then the next person has to write a caption for it. They then post their own photo.
The caption can be a title for the photo or what the bird is thinking, its up to you guys.

"If I eat any more of these I'm going to fall over.......  Uh oh..."

What was this cockatoo thinking?   He landed and immediately hung upside down. After this shot he extended his wings fully and hung there for another half a minute. Thinking....what?....

When you hang upside down, oxygen-rich blood flows to your brain and after you adjust to it you begin to notice your brain feels more alive.sad

This Black-faced Monarch gave me a good looking over as I photographed him/her but I don't know what he/she was thinking?

"Is that really Reflex over there with the camera?  The plumage looks about right...  When I get back to the nest I must look him up in my Field Guide to the Humans of Australia..."

What was going on in this guy's head?

"Those owls think they're so smart with their almost 360 head swivels, bet they can't turn their whole body back to front"!

And I must say, oh my goodness that is a cracker shot Chris!  Which way is up, my brain couldn't sort him out, haha.

What is this puffball thinking?

Clever caption. :-)

I was standing over the magpie, on the verandah, so that's the view of its back, from above. Its head was lolling to the right as if it was asleep or in a bit of a trance.  It was a hot day and a couple of maggies were doing it, and another one was lying flat out on the ground with its eyes closed.  Soaking up some vitamin D? I've really no idea.

Lovely picture of the little grey fantail. We've recently added a birdbath near the house and had a couple of fantails visit for the first time, but I wasn't able to get a good shot.  I'm sure there will be other times.

Chris I so desperately wanted to put the caption "I'm Batman" with your pic but Reflex beat me with his caption.

I can just imagine him doing that with a husky voice and all. lol.

Nice one Devster. smiley  I hadn't spotted the resemblance to Batman, but you're right. All he needs now is a Robin alongside him.

We had some debate amongst family members last night as to what this beautiful little fantail might be saying.

Suggestion ranged from the unoriginal:

"I'm not over-weight, I'm just under-tall..."

to lowschoolboy humour:

"If I don't fart soon I'm going to burst"..

But the best we could do was Vicki's suggestion of:

"You DO like my new hair gel, don't you dear? DON'T YOU?

I wonder what this galah was saying?

Well, I seem to have killed this week stone dead with that photo! Two days with no further submissions.  Maybe captions just aren't everybody's cup of tea?

Ideas from members of this household ranged from:

"A-TISH-OOOOO"

and " Help! I've dropped a contact lens ..."

through to various versions of what it was actually trying to convey, such as

"Flap off, Bronzie..."

Anybody like to post another photo?

Haha Chris, you have a brilliantly imaginative & witty family, love all those captions!   I look at some of these awesome shots and just hear crickets in my head...until someone else comes up with a witty caption, then I can think of a few more blush, weird how that works.  I blame winter slowing my brain down. laugh

Caption for Daves shot, "I see you, you can't hide, I have a Hawks eye.  Well.  a parrots one anyway".
