Bird of the Week Challenge: 13th July - beauty is in the eye of the beholder

Happy Monday everyone. Hope those of you on the east coast are staying as warm as you can. Anyone get snow?

I cant remember if I have set this challenge before, I think I may have.... but anyway, lets see photos of those, how shall we say it, less photogenic birds wink The ones that only a mother could love.

Still super cute, but baby Coots are a little unusual looking compared to some imo.laugh

Hi all.

I had trouble finding a suitable Australian bird for this challenge - all of my photos had cute looking little birds, not ugly ones! Need to dig up a brush turkey photo or chanel-billed cuckoo or something!!

Anyway I found this one from a trip to Africa - the Ground Hornbill seems to fit the theme this week.

Good luck everyone!

Cute as chicks, but rather unusual looking as adults, Masked Lapwing.

I don't think Ibis are considered to be cute even as chicks......

Pretty much the only, not so pretty bird shot I have. Baby Wagtails only one day old, from earlier this year in my backyard. Mum loved them thats for sure.

OK, not a bird photo but since you asked about the snow Holly, yes we got some.
