Its another Monday everyone!
This week I thought we would shift the focus from birds just a little - though by all means use photos with birds in them in you like. I thought it would be good to share a photo of a special place to you. Somewhere were you may have had great luck photographing birds or is simply a favourite place you love to visit. It could be your own yard, it could be a country you travelled to. So share the places you love.
My Backyard, its the reason I became interested in birds and it still amazes me what I see.

This dead tree is about 200 metres away from my house but this is how I often see it on my way to work.

My backyard is small but having a gum tree and some natives makes for some interesting birds at times. This Gang gang caught me off guard and I had to race inside and grab my camera. It's mate flew past and I had just enough time to fire off one shot. Of course the camera was in one shot mode instead of al servo so it's a wonder I even made this image.

Fogg Dam near Humpty Do in the NT is my special place. The bird life is amazing I got up at sunrise most days and photographed until about 10.00 am and then went back at about 4.30 and photographed until near sunset. I used a Nikon D60 with a Sigma 150-500mm lens.

The Mt Glorious cottage looks lovely, just sit on the deck all day and the birds and other interesting things would come to you.
I have stayed at Heron Island they were having trouble with the Silver eyes helping themselves to the sugar in the dining room. Sugar bowls with a lid and a spoon sticking out was the solution but NO the birds used the spoon as a lever to remove the lid. So paper sachets of sugar were introduced, the birds picked these up found a partly finished drink, dunked the sachet in this to soften the paper and were then able to eat the sugar. I think "management" gave up after this.

Magazine Wetlands is another favourite, close to the city, birding spot.
Lots of Whiskered Terns at the right time of the year.

Jerrabomberra Wetlands is my all time favorite place with a huge variety of birds. Even when its quiet you can just sit in a hide and enjoy the antics of the ducks fighting over their roosts.
