Another croweater in the mix. Hi from Adelaide!

Hello everyone. I've been a fairly longtime lurker and appreciator of these forums, both for the information held in there, but also the great bird images. I'm still relatively new to birds, photography and even to backyard ownership (with its associated toils, haha), and my interest in all of the above just keeps growing. I've picked up quite a few tips and tricks from the posts in the 'best photos' section, so I owe a retroactive thanks to everyone posting there!

I've been a bit sheepish when it comes to sharing photos in the past but I'm becoming a bit more confident and would love to get some feedback now and then, or even just discuss some of the more interesting sightings and behaviours I've seen. Looking forward to it.

As for the nitty gritty stuff, I'm a 30-ish fellow in Adelaide's southern suburbs who has spent the better part of two years fumbling my way to competence with a bunch of Nikon gear. I'd say my main interest is in the outdoors and wildlife pure and simple. Everything else has probably grown out of that. I still take childlike glee in seeing raptors in the wild, but birds of any sort have had me reaching for the camera lately. Seems customary to pop a couple of photos into the intro post but I wouldn't know where to start, so maybe I'll just drop a few into the main photo forum over time!

Cheers,

Mike
