Hi everyone! Thankfully back and largely over my cold. Spent all of last week in bed!
A huge thank you to Tegan for this week's challenge suggestion. Its all about showing how your photography skills have improved.
The aim is to post a photo of a bird that you took early on in you hobby, then, follow that with the same species, showing how you have improved.
This one is going to run till next Tuesday - I am away for the long weekend and not sure I will have internet access on Monday to post a new challenge.

Azure Kingfisher ... first photo is from two years ago (i have so many fails of birds in Casuarinas!!), the second from a couple of weeks ago. Still plenty of room for improvement if I get a better opportunity.
Great idea Tegan. It took a while to find some old ones because I have recently been deleting them... some were really awful. Following are a couple of New Holland Honeyeaters demonstrating better technique.

Where did you take the Blue Faced Honeyeater pics Brian?

Hi Tegan,
They are taken in my backyard, I have four grevillia tree's along the back fence line. Two different species, the brighter ones are out at the moment but the paler variety are just budding up now and should be out in full bloom in the next few weeks. They attract a wide variety of other birds as well including Rosella's, Lorikeets, Noisy Friarbirds, Noisy Minor's, Crested Pigeons just to name a few.

More for post #3 - latest improvement with an Azure Kingfisher seen today (funny that I went about two years without getting a shot of one and this is third in last month)
Its bill looks a bit big for its body! Lovely picture.
