In between packing for, and planning, our big trip managed to get out to Rocky Point (Eagleby wetlands still a mess thanks to Debbie floods) where I have been keeping an eye on an Osprey nest on a power pole for the past two months. At last it was occupied! And, the partner was perched neaby. Wonderful stuff. Also snapped a Mangrove HE and a Grey Fantail about 20 metres away.
Love that last Ospery portrait shot with the breast feathers blowing in the wind.
Love those opsrey shots mate
Dont take life too seriously, it never ends well
How lovely to have an Osprey nest nearby. Will you be around when the chicks might be expected? I would love to see a Mangrove HE too

Thanks Ryu, Not sure how long it will be before the chicks arrive. They have just started sitting on the nest. We get back from Europe on June 28 so I'll be out there soon after to check it out. The Mangrove HEs are lovely birds. If you are ever up this way and I'm around happy to take you or any BIB people for a look in this area.
It will be great to see the chicks when they hatch, that picture of the nest is amazing.

Thanks Elizabeth. The nest is HUGE. At a guess it must be 1.5 to 1.8 metres wide. Think it must have been there for some years. Cheers, Muzz
