Sea Lion having a snack.

I took this in Valdez harbour in Alaska.  The sea lions aren't stupid they wait at the release chute where the salmon are returned into the harbour, a real smorgasboard.

A sense of scale.

This sea lion is around 3 metres long and they average around 600kg and some have been recorded at 1100kg. The salmon would be at least 50cm long.

A mind blowing experience Annie.  A 15 day photographic workshop in early September 2015. Denali Nat. Pk, bears, moose, elk river otters, orcas, bald eagles and lots more.  Landscapes in autumn colours, they were full on 12 hour days and then Auroror borealis hunting at night. After the workshop my wife and I hired a car and drove up to Fairbanks in the middle of the state and found lots to do for another fortnight until the first snows started.  We nearly got snowed in.

Only regret:  I am not there.  LOL and we should have been in Alaska about 2 weeks earlier because the bears were moving up into the mountains.  Expensive but well worth the trip.

I'll post a few more images later.
