Swamp Harier?

Hi, I was wondering if anyone could ID this for me please. Karuah, Port Stephens, NSW. There has been a pair of them around my area for the last week or so. I love sitting in the backyard listening to their whistling calls to each other.

Thinking Whistling Kite - you describe them Whistling to each other, the under wing pattern seems to match, and the flight feathers, there are six clearly visible where I think a Swamp Harrier has five distinct and the sixth not so obvious. But then maybe the tail isn't long enoug? Certainly no expert, and as always happy to be corrected by someone who knows more than I! Nice photo BTW.

Thank you. Yes they're very vocal, I hear them before I see them and I did a bit more research after posting (should have done it first) and it seems swamp harriers have 5 flight feathers unlike these.

I've taken about 600 pictures of them the last week, learnt a lot about my camera and finally got some in focus today.

This pic might be clearer.

Thank you HB :)

I just upgraded from a bridge camera Fujifilm HS-20 to an entry level DSLR Nikon D3400. I had the HS-20 for about 5 years and it was a very frustrating experience, probably due to my lack of knowledge and ability. I'm enjoying the D3400 and it has reinvigorated my interest in trying to photograph birds. I hope you have better luck with your bridge camera.

I'm probably biased but its probably just Nikon being better :)

(My bridge is nikon. I've tried others like Canon but found it so confusing to use)
