Lightning Ridge

Our trip out to south-western Qld and North-west NSW took us down through St George to Lightning Ridge, better known for opals than birds. Did not have to move far from the caravan park to get this set. Mallee Ringneck, Little Eagle, Yellow-throated miner, Red-winged parrot, Apostlebird. All, apart from the Little Eagle were snapped in the caravan park. The raptor was taken on the local footy field ... across from the caravan park. Never  happens like this at home.

That's brilliant  set mate and to get all that without moving from caravan park is incredible

Wow how good is that! Great set. I too love the Little Eagle as I have not photographed one. What bird is it eating do you think?

Thanks Devo. Think he had taken down a Masked lapwing. It's mate was going crazy in the background. Sad, but that's nature. He literally tore the lapwing apart in short time. Cheers.
