Spiny Cheeked Honeyeater

heres a photo of a Spiny Cheeked Honeyeater - Acanthagenys rufogularis, this particular species is hard to get near as they are only found in thick Mallee scrub, but they have a beautiful little song that they sing. This bird was photographed today near Wilkawatt, S.A.

Thanks Matthew

Good one, Matt.

Spiny-cheeked Honeyeaters also inhabit open woodland as well as mallee. They certainly prefer the dryer country.
