Bird call for ID please...

Hi All,

I recorded this birdcall about 7am this morning.

https://drive.google.com/open?id=1_KI4YdzvIwfr5_AXH4FuFnup_nXCGKea

I've not heard it before. I only caught a glimpse of the bird (hard to say if it was the bird that was actiually calling, but there were no others in that direction...)

In the fleeting moment the bird was visible ... light grey, 20-25cm, black beak, maybe a black eyebrow, fan-shaped tail (not stubby not too long)...

I wouldn't count on the description as being gospel...

I live on acreage in Cashmere, Queensland about 25 Km NNW of Brisbane's CBD. Open eucalypt forest.

Thanks

Ron

It sounds a little bit, but not completely, like a shrike thrush.

I reckon definitely a Shrikethursh, I think Grey Shrikethush, but can't 100% rule out Little Shrkethrush.

The grey shrike thrushes I am familiar with in Victoria don't end their call like that, but the start is definitely very familiar.
