Welcome Swallow

Hello from Wangaratta, VIC. I am a new member, this is my first post of a Welcome Swallow that I was lucky enough to have captured perched and in flight. I live close to a creek where I am able to observe the behaviours of several bird species in their natural habitat.  Remarkably like a fighter jet, but with greater maneouverability I think. The three images below show its wing configuration, 1/10th sec apart

Reaminds me of the pick of a falcon I took, but mines not nelly as good, it’s quite blurred. As birds moove quite fast, the only good pick I have of a flying bird is a pallycan. A group of them flying (which I found out is called a squadron) and one on water.

I think they look like sea planes.

Pelicans on water do look a little like seaplanes, Vick, and are sometimes quite slow to take off. Land birds launch themselves faster.

Hi Gumnut, Those guys are fearfully hard to get, so nice shooting. I got this one this morning in Beenleigh, SEQ. There wasn't many other birds about, so I shot at Swallows.

Thanks Greyson, I shot at swallows as at the time there weren't any other interesting targets. These few shots were the ony real keepers out of more than a hundred misses.
