Hi everyone. May be hard without a photo (went to get a camera but they'd disappeared) but wondering if anyone could suggest an ID from a description as I've never noticed these birds before.
Located Apollo bay area (SW Vic coast), group of 4 foraging in the leaf litter under a shrubby tree. 1 seemed to have less destinct markings than the others. Heavy set, approx raven sized birds. Dark olive green head, back and tail; dark brown wings; and a lighter tan to off white underside with darker scaling; dark beak; greyish legs. Moving along the ground with hops.
Female Satin Bowerbird, but wouldn’t have thought they would be together. No idea really, just guessing.

Actually pretty sure you're right, thank you :) The group thing threw me as well, not sure why there were so many together. (Juveniles maybe?) I was actually thinking they looked kind of Bowerbird-ish after I posted this but had only seen the males around before now. This photo is a pretty good match for them.
