Is this call a blackbird?

I haven't heard this call before - very tuneful (Not the cacophany of Rainbow Lorikeets)- I have checked Common Blackbird calls for this variation but they don't sound quite right. Location was Sydney NSW.

Thank you if you can help solve mystery.

I don't think so, iv never heard them make this sound. Although I don't see the introduced common black bird very often, so I might not be hearing all the calls they produce.

As a South Australian I'm very confident that's not a Common Blackbird, Mika. A Birds in Backyarder living in Sydney would be able to identify the call for you.

Incidentally, while the feral Common Blackbird call is also tuneful, more tuneful native birds can be attracted by the planting of indigenous native vegetation which once grew naturally in your locality. Native birds such as the Grey Shrike-thrush, Rufous Whistler & Golden Whistler have wonderfully melodious calls but suffer from destruction of their natural habitats & the replacement of native vegetation with introduced species.
