Seen in March at Warrandyte.
Some kind of thornbill? Robin?
But the visible hook (like a grey butcher) on beak crosses out a lot of possibilites, unless it's just a variation?
The beak is shorter than brown thornbills and longer than weebills.
Help appreciated!
Maybe a young or female Golden Whistler, the pale chin and upper breast. No expert happy to be corrected.
Nice photos by the way.

Just had another thought - photo doesn't show size very well. If it is smallish I will stick with Golden Whistler ? female.
If it is a little larger, perhaps a Grey Shrike-thrush, the hooked bill fits that, but the bill maybe to small?

Wow, thank you! Golden whistler makes sense because i do have a photo of a striking yellow male taken a minute apart. (edit: nope, nevermind, realised it's a photo of a yeastern yellow robin!)
No idea about size, i was just going through some old photos.
Agree that it is clearly a Whistler but the lack of a yellow vent makes me think it could be an Olive Whistler rather than a female Golden Whistler. I think it would be in the area.
thanks for replying! i couldn't see a little hook on the olive whistler though the colors do match a bit more. would be cool if it were a olive whistler xD
