my stay at the Ian Gawler retreat

Hi all, back from the Ian Gawler cancer retreat, had an AMAZING experience there and home with renewed determination and positivity to kick the big C's butt!
The wildlife in the grounds was wonderful, very conducive to a peaceful and relaxing stay.

Hi Hev - I didn't know why we hadn't heard from you lately but I wish you the very best for a speedy return to good health. It looks like the place you stayed was fantastic for birding. Birding is such a great way to take time to relax and appreciate the world around us, isn't it? I really like all your photos, especially the photo of the lewin's he because I have never seen one. I'm looking forward to seeing the rest.

Hi Heva good to see you back and some great shots. Regarding kicking butt put some steel caps on so you can kick it harder!

ok still trying with the sizes...(VERY trying)...have the steel toe caps all ready cathshane:)
Found this bowerbird bower in the undergrowth and got this shot by crawling in amongst the bush... I only spotted it because I could see the male performing amongst the trees wooing two or three females... I looked in the undergrowth and spotted a pice of blue twine pulled taught where it had caught in the undergrowth, he obviously got frustrated and gave up as a bad job, but it led me to his treasures of bower and blue bottle caps, straws, twine, blue paper, blue pen tops and blue rosella feathers...just beautiful...I was impressed even if the ladies weren't!

Now this lady was sat on three eggs in her nest right outside the kitchen and dining room,
we went to meditation...came out 45mins later and this is what we saw!

Lovely photos Heva! Especially love the new holland honeyeater photos, and the bower shot is pretty cool but my favourite has gotta be those YTBC, they look like stunned mullets :D Just a few quick ID's you're lewins is a yellow faced honeyeater and with you're swallow it's a welcome swallow, you've fused the names of a fairy martin and swallow! Hope you are okay and back to full health Heva :|

yes you're right amateur..thanks for that:) that'll teach me to be lazy and just guess instead of looking it up! Healthwise...am getting there, a week away camping in Bright-one of my fave places should do the trick I reckon:)

Just love the photo of the 3 in the nest; it's gorgeous and so sharp. Also the ones with parent. I haven't seen a juvenile NHHE; it's very cute. And I've always been a sucker for a photo of a YTBC
