Can someone identify this little fellow for me. He frequents my backyard, is only a little bigger then the blue wrens I have here. Not as big as a sparrow. Sorry for the poor photo quality.

Maybe some type of honeyeater, judging by the beak in your second photo??? Just a guess.

Serendipity,

I tried lightening up your images to see if that helped reveal any identifying features.

My first questions is, are you sure this is the same bird?

I'm wondering if the first is a silvereye?

But the flying one definitely isn't.

Thanks booshkie for lightening the pics, Yes it deffinately the same bird as I took the photos at the same time. There are not many obvious marks on this little bird. Very thin, not even as fat as a fairy wren (they were in the tree at the same time) if I was to say a colour I would say olive/brown. Very fast little bird. I live in Inverell - New England Tablelands. I had a look in my bird book and the brown honeyeater sounds like that could be it?

I lightened it also and am also pretty sure it is a brown honey eater

Where was the honey eater located?
Looks like the white plumed honey eater that i saw in canberra a few weeks back.

I snapped this little honeyeater in my garden in the New England Tablelands of NSW. He frequents my garden all the time.

It's not yellow enough to be a "White-plumed" The small yellow triangle behind the eye makes it a Brown Honeyeater.

Not the best pictures to ID from but I'll go with Brown HE.

Here's one on the Townsville Towncommon,

Brown honeyeater in my backyard. Don't know how these will go. I've resized them so will see when they're posted I guess.
