2 Birds - Figbird? + a honking bird

I have photographed 2 birds together. Ive been hearing a 'honking' type bird around here and actually thought it was a duck until i saw it flying, then finally saw it perched.

It is the one with the red beak, but i can not find this bird in any field guide or on this site.

When i was taking photos the bird at the top of the branch flew there, i originally thought it was a partner of the red beak bird, but i think that top one is a figbird? i got one of him flying off.

I also have included a closer shot of the 'red beak honking' bird.

Hi Magpie

Yes, a Figbird and the other is a Dollarbird.

I didnt consider a dollarbird as it looks very colourful in the book, but this bird looked quite dull. Could have just been the lighting though.

Does anyone have a sound recording of a dollarbird?

Hi magpie,
You can hear the call from the [link=http://birdsinbackyards.net/finder/display.cfm?id=39]Birdfinder[/link] page on this site.

Great shot of the fig bird in flight. Definately a dollar bird, Check the large light coloured spot under each wing when in flight. Ray

From now on I'm going to refer to Dollarbirds as Red-beak honking-birds. :-)
