brown-backed honeyeaters?

Hi everyone!
so these little honey eaters have been residents of my yard for a few years now, always building 3 to 4 nests each breeding season and successfully raising their young. but then lately i've been photographing them and i noticed that some birds have yellow on them and others don't. i thought these birds were the same species, the brown-backed honeyeater (ramsayornis modestus), and the ones without yellow were the juveniles. But then i saw the birds build a different kind of nest to what they usually do and reliased that i must have two different species. so i assumed the birds without yellow were the Brown-backed honey eater because they fit the picture in my bird book and build the same type of nest. My problem is however, that i dont know what they birds with yellow are called because i can find any in my book that match ( i have the Reader's Digest Complete Book of Australian Birds). Does anyone recognize what the birds with yellow are and can help me out with the name??

Hi deeb
they look like Brown HEs.
To fix the picture size keep the width of the picures to around 500 pixals, that is all that will fit into the space on this forum,I think it is easier to resize before you upload to photobucket, as far as i can tell the default download size from PHB is the uploaded size. I prefer Flickr as it gives a selection of sizes to download regardless of the upload size.
You must be in NQ if you have both BBHE and BHE in your garden, I'm in Townsville and have both.

hi deb

Yes we get Yellow and every now and then a Dusky will show up. White Gaped and White throated are fairly regular visitors, even less often than the Dusky we sometimes see Rufous-throated and I have just once seen a Fuscous in the garden.
