a crow by another name?

I have noticed crows near my mother's home which have several different markings. They appear clumsy and awkward when they are in the tree and when they flew over me I noticed white patches under the wing and also behind the head. Actually they resemble a cross between a magpie and a crow. Really weird. Anyone?

Check out Whire Winged Chough. Should be just before the butcherbirds in your book.

That is him!! Thank you. I'm chuffed! Looks as though he out of his territory for some reason. My mum does not live in his area.

They are probably still Breading at this time of year so have a look for a big mud nest probably high in a gum tree or similar.
