I think this is too small to be a brown honeyeater

Yes, definitely a brown honeyeater. Tell me about confusing sizes, Looking at other peoples pics I thought the NEw Holland Honeyeater was about the size of a Red Wattlebird, I certainly got a shock when I saw it in the wild and it was so small. My book doesn't help either, it makes them look massive as well... Nice photo, must be hard to see with at that size.

Hi guys

The Brown Honeyeater is very variable in size, much more than most of the 'small' honey-eaters, my field guide give it a range of 12 to 16cm. This is very noticable in the field.
