Hello to all from Vineyard (Sydney)

Hello everyone,

I am new to birdwatching. The extent of my experience is sitting down near the vege garden, watching who comes to the bird bath and the seed. I am surrounded by bushland and I am finding lots of different birds frequent the bird bath. Not to mention the Kookaburra who seems to find an endless supply of food in the vege patch. I have a basic digital camera and I have been trying to photograph the birds. Because of this I have a SLR digital on the Christmas wish list.
I have always had an appreciation of nature and have always had a preference for birds in natural habitat, rather than cages. I guess that means some traveling in the future to see birds! lol
I look forward to what this site has to offer.
