A great photo capturing all the features of this lovely bird. I haven't seen them in my area, perhaps they prefer more densely forested areas?

He/she's a somewhat scruffy looking fella - do you think it's a youngun? Or is it just the angle of the light that makes the feathers look a bit white?

You are right Tim, it is the angle of the light, one of those rare days when the sun was out.

Shane, I think there might be seeds under those leaves, because they rip them off and eat what ever it is, and through the rest on the ground.

I think they're spores that the rosella is after, Araminta.

Timmo, young crimson rosellas are mostly green. I once asked a group why young Adelaide rosellas were mainly green. One smart fellow said: "We're all a little green when we're young."
