Went on a birding walk with Araminta and had a lovely time. Here are some of my shots. Nothing spectacular.
Baby ducklings in one lake
We saw a couple of baby Grebes but no parents
I find the feet on these Coots fascinating
A New Holland Honeyeater fluffed up after enjoying the rain drops on the leaves
Think this is an Australian Reed Warbler. Hard to get a clear shot while in the reeds.
I love the first photo, illustrates the old saying "like water off a duck's back", it doesn't penetrate.
Do you think the red on the back of the Grebe's head is some form of breeding colour? I had not noticed it before/
Neither have I noticed what those feet look like. (unless there is something strange going on here?)
As for the Warbler, Owen will tell us what it is
Next time we go out, we should ask for some sunshine.

Nothing strange about those feet, had a look at some of my photos, they all have them.

Yes, I thought about that saying when looking at the ducks.
Not sure about that red colour, just thought it might be because it's so young and it will grow out.
Re the feet, didn't think anything was wrong, just cool. Very odd looking. When I saw them walking I thought they had webbed feet but looking at the images it's obvious they don't.
Yes, the sunshine is out now - isn't that always the way? But there are more days of sunshine to come...

That chestnut patch is part of the breeding uniform.
Thanks Woko.
