Congrats, how long is your list? Did you see any Pied Oyster Catchers? Are they on your list, or have you already seen? We have both in Tassie, must go looking again.

Last time i counted the list i think there was around 534 West Australian birds on it , so i have a ways to go yet !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!http://birdingwa.iinet.net.au/birdlists/western_australia.doc  ( this is the list i use) there is alot of deep sea ocean birds like Petrels and Shearwaters, which somehow i don't think I will ever get.sad. Also I have to incite my partner that the next hoilday we take will be up North so I can get the birds up there. There are 3 birds : White-bellied Sea Eagle (Penang) , Wimbrel (Galapagos)  and the Masked Booby(Galapagos) that I have photograghed outside of Australia. I also have photographs of birds on the list that were taken in captivity but i highlight them in a different colour and don't include them in my count. As for the Pied Oystercatcher ''yes'' there were 2 on the beach the same day as the Sooty but I have taken photos of the Pied before.

The closest I ever got to some Shearwaters, was last Sunday at Swan Lake (Phillip Island) , a few hundred holes in a sandy hill, one dead chick left behind.crying, and a sign saying, they leave in April.Well, next year then.
