my own wetlands

I always wanted to live close to some wetlands, but not that close. I can hear some frogs in front of my windows. I expect some ducks to turn up any minute.

Hope all of you are safe and dry?

It's pretty wet all over, even the chooks look sad peering out from under there coop at the pond that used to be there yard.

But it does mean my favourite swamp will be filling up and when the sun comes out again I might  be able to take some photos there  "yay"

You should get worried if their beaks turn into bills

53mm in 3 days here on the s.e. slopes of the Mt Lofty Ranges. Plus another few mm today. This is unusual for us. We're normally in the rainshadow of the Ranges but this time we benefitted from a constant moist south easterly which put us on the rainy side of the mountains. I've been out poking around & transplanting several understorey species which have regenerated in our "lawn" which we have as a fire break in summer. It's all part  of the great variety of conditions we experience.
