Good morning everyone. Another gorgeous spring morning here. I have seen quite a few birds flying around with nesting material over the last week - it will have to be a theme soon! But this week - lets see all those birds who find other birds (and lizards, and frogs and mice etc etc) - the carnivorous ones...
Here's my small collection of BOPs:
Great photos nathan! Here is a Pacific Baza
Here are a couple more, first photo evil looking group 2 kites and a crow, 2nd kite at sunrise, I stood for such a loooong time waiting for this shot of him flying off the branch and thirdly the brahminy kite, fabulous looking bird

Well the Raptors seem to be popular, so i'll continue with them (my favourite birds)

Great photos all I love these birds , ive got a few ill put half up
Wow wow wow. So many amazing photos. Such incredible photos in flight by Nathan, Di and Rawshorty! Tough to do. I do love that hovering kestral. And Besty, Letterwing Kites and Grey Falcons are so tough to see, let alone photograph. One day I hope to see them. Might have to travel out into the desert for those ones.
Like Besty, I don't think this covers even half of my photos, but here are some of the better ones. I even threw in an owl, since they are night-time carnivores
Dave, Sydney.
Fantastic photos one and all! I am fairly new to bird photography so only have a few in my archive somewhere. Black Kites were like the town's seagulls in Normanton, Queensland when we went there 6 years ago so I got some shots of them and some Nankeen Kestrels on a lighthouse somewhere too.
I hope to add to my collection one day! In the meantime please accept my only carnivorous bird of recent times. Not quite what you had in mind perhaps!

I just found one of my oldest photos, taken with a little camera I bought at Aldi for $78.

Here is a Nankeen Kestral I have posted before.

He's a carnivore. He'll eat anything he can get his beak on, even fish&chips. (but that is very sad to see)

White-winged Chough enjoying his catch.

Willie the carnivore yells out: hey Kite, watch out I'm going to eat you

Here are some carnivores from my archive. Nankeen Kestrels in WA and a Black Kite from QLD.

I'm just finishing a short period of leave, a Christmas Island Goshawk or 3

I don't have any new BOPs but here are a few favourites from within the last year...

First off I am at best a VERY amateur twitcher, I restrict my birdwatching to the front and side porches (we live on 50 acres in the bush, sans any pets) so if I have the names wrong, please correct me :)

Not sure ! (kidding)
EDIT:
Not sure why the BBcode IMG tag is not working ? :( so I posted links below

I'm still not quite sure what it was, maybe half a frog?
Kookaburra with worm.
Black-breasted buzzard
Two whistling kites

Nice photos Kathie, love the Kookaburra and the Whistling Kites. Just one question, don't you think the second bird is a Wedge-tailed Eagle?
M-L
It could be but I believe that's what they said it was when at Healesville some time ago. But perhaps I misunderstood what they were saying.

Hi Kathie, I recognize him, they do fly a Buzzard as well, but this bird is their Wedged-tailed Eagle. Here is a close up of the same bird, taken a few years ago at Healesville Sanctuary.

Finally managing to get pics in order from the trip round Australia so here are a few raptors. Hope that the ID is correct but please let me know if I have made a mistake.
Wow Sue! These are great shots! I didn't see near as many as you when I traveled around Australia. Great share!
