this is a fairly big frog , its body was 8cm long l measured with verniers haha
its very handsome frog though.

I think this guy is a scarlet sided pobblebonk (http://www.southbank.qm.qld.gov.au/Find+out+about/Animals+of+Queensland/Frogs/Common+frogs/Scarlet-sided+Pobblebonk).
They make a simple loud "pop" or "bonk" noise, and you'll often find them hiding in areas that resonate well, like PVC pipes, where they get the most "bonk for their buck", so to speak.
