Afternoon in Werribee Gorge state park

Last weekend we went for a walk at Werribee Gorge state park. Actually, it wasn't an easy walk, more like a hike. At some points I even had to put my camera into to the backpack to make sure it won't end up in the watter :) But still, it was fun, and we saw great variety of birds. Not all were captured thought sad

You must have had a great walk. I love the photo of the Painted Button-quail, it's beautiful. The sun really illuminates the red eye

I've only ever seen them running. (mainly away from mecrying)

Looking at your female (the one with the red spot) White-throated Treecreeper and the male, reminds me that I haven't seen the ones in my garden for a while.

Was the Fantail landing or taking off? It's in mid-air, the feet are not touching the ground.

The quail was pretenting it's not there smiley And actually was doing quite well. If it didn't move at all, I would probably have walked by. Later it ran and even flew smiley

And the fantail was just hopping on the branch and turning from one side to another. Probably you know what I am talking about. I really like when birds do that smiley
