I've just watched 8 New Holland Honeyeaters using our bird bath. Three others were preening having just emerged from the water. One of the three looked towards the ground & emitted the snake warning call that New Holland Honeyeaters use. Upon which the eight at the bird batch flew to shelter. Their place was immediately taken by the snake warner who proceeded to use the bird bath alone. An interesting & cunning strategy for acquiring resources, I suspect.
