Annual visit of some Red headed Honey Eaters

Must be August as we only ever see these guys now, very showy up against the drab dusky and brown honet eaters!

I noticed this fellow has some red on his rump, never seen that before, does the Scarlet Honey Eater have similar?

How beautiful they areheart Are there also some females around? Do they breed in your area? I've never seen one before, thanks for posting them.

Araminta, they are generally found in the mangroves, and fringes, so i suppose thats where they nest as well, there are large areas of grevillea trees in flower atm, they might be drawn out of the mangroves for them.

And yes there are girls,!

Beautiful little fellow .... charming photos.
