Another one - help needed please

Hi everyone.  This bird has been seen frequently recently, always on it's own. Located Victoria Point Qld.  Size just a little smaller than the rainbow lorikeets but larger than the Indian Mynas. It appears to have a slightly crested head, but that could be the breeze - although each time I have seen it the head looks square compared to similar birds.         I really have no idea on ID, so need assistance please.  Cheers, Chris.

That's an Indian Mynah unfortunately. Cheers Beef.

Thanks Beef.  I thought it was, just it is larger than the others I have seen around. Maybe a new giant version - :)   Chris

The perceived size of a bird can be affected by its relation to close by objects. I recall that I once saw two emus on a sandhill in the Coorong National Park that appeared to be twice the size of regular emus. Then I realised they were near a couple of shrubs, the only vegetation on the sandhill, which I expected to be much larger than they were. As soon as I got a handle on the size of the shrubs I was able to get a handle on the size of the emus.
