These are some of the birds living around my shack.
The Rainbow Bee Eaters nest about 20metres away , the wrens and finches about 10 metres from my workshop. l like the Brown Flycatchers very much , always perching nearby and along with the Rainbow birds , performing wonderful aerial displays every afternoon chasing airborne insects , the numbers of which are uncountable ...especially preceeding rain.

Hi Woko l am between Esk and Hampton. lt aint flash but its home.
so far seen about 28 species of birds , 5 species of frogs , 4 species of snake , several small lizard species , a large pale gecko , potoroo , bandicoots , wallabies , koala.
several weeks ago, at night , close to the shack , this loud snorting-grunt-whistle went on for 2hrs every night for about 2 weeks. the first time l heard it scared the daylight out of me , as l was sitting quietly outside under the awning having a quiet ale and a smoke. l christened him 'Mule-Pig' cos thats what it sounded like! took me several days to work out what it was a big healthy male koala looking for a lady koala. funny.
Hey, Barney. After checking Google Earth my guess would be that Esk & Hampton are in........Queensland!! By the way, anywhere that's home is flash to me. Especially if there's lots of wildlife around.

Your home sounds, and looks, like a truly fantastic spot Barney! These shots are beautiful - the Bee Eater is so lovely, almost looks like he/she is posing especially for you too

pretty sure its a brown flycatcher Windshear. they are very acrobatic and several hang out here and l think have raised young.
