I think it's fantastic that this project has generated interest in birds with the general public, but under 'sightings' there are many (albeit often easily explained) misidentifications (granted along with some seemingly legitimate lists),
such as the likes of sightings of Yellow Wattlebird, Forty-spotted Pardalote, Collared Imperial-Pigeon, Chestnut-quilled Rock-Pigeon, Eclectus Parrot and Black-faced Sheathbill in Melbourne CBD...
Wow! A few species there outside their range, zosterops!
Indeed, exciting times for the birding community, eremaea birdlines will be flooded with reports of ultra rarities...
