3 Beach Stone Curlews sighted about 1:30pm today on spit opposite Bellwood Park, Nambucca Heads, NSW. A first for me. I will upload picture later today once we cease driving but thought another birder might be in the area.

Beach Stone-curlews are always a great bird to see
Peter
Thanks Peter. A bird was calling so I walked over to investigate and was thrilled to see something new to me. Not great pictures as I had little chnace before it flew. I think that they are still uncommon in NSW and was surprised to see three. It was an unexpected treat on a quick visit to Brisbane. Think we will wander home slowly to Sydney and hope to spy something else new a bit further inland.
My sightings have been at South Ballina, Richmond River NSW, 2 sites on Bribie Is Qld and in Darwin NT.
So now I just have to get a sighting in WA.
