Hi Lyn
No Picture :-( but don't give up. Most of us had to work out the posting method for this site. First up you can't post from your desk-top. You need to use a host, I use Flickr, other Photobucket. There are several posts on how to. if you get stuck we will try to talk you through it.
Thank you Birdie. I have your helpful instructions - all of a sudden I am having trouble with "Facebook" - wouldn't you know - but will try again later. Thought I would try "Facebook" as they seem to reduce the size of the image automatically.
Lyn the principal is the same no matter which hosting site you use for your photos. I would suggest you look up flickr http://www.flickr.com/
Create an account and upload your pics to it. there is an editing facility but I usually use PIcture Manager ( an accessory of Microsoft office) as the easiest way to reduce the size of the image. The best size for here is 500 on the width, but I just choose the automated suggestions of "large document" or small document if it doesn't need too much detail and they all present well on this forum. remember if you are saving them on your computer in a reduced state to use save as so that you don't reduce your original image and lose your quality if you want ot use it again for printing or anything.
The same thing applies with links but you just add link inside the square brackets instead of img.
Good luck and don't worry we all went through it initially!!
HALLELUJAH!!!!
Thank you all so much for being patient - if I had read the brackets properly last time I would have got there!
The whole object of this exercise was to show you the different colours our Adelaide Rosellas present. Hopefully I can load the next image to show you just that!!
Yes birdie - in my garden. I have two bird feeders hanging right outside my window - it is so interesting to watch the order in which the birds come in to feed - the Rosellas are very timid, but appear first when the seed goes out!
Hi Lyn
Good on you for persisting - I had trouble working out how to post as well.
What a beautiful rosella with lovely delicate colours. Here is a juvenile crimson rosella from Sydney. It has a very intense red.
Found this old post about Adelaide Rosellas, it appears I have a couple of shots as well. However, They are quite shy and it's hard to get closer to them.
Gee guys - this was a "blast from the past" when it hit my Inbox!
At least I have learned how to post photos since this thread was started!
This is one of my favourite shots of our Adelaide Rosellas.
I took it through a very dirty kitchen window recently.
Their colours are very different.
Very nice Lyn, there are so many different Rosellas. I have also some Eastern Rosellas, and one pair of blue-winged Parrots, they are very shy, and I mostly see their backs just flying off as I come up the drive. Must try harder! M-L
Yes Lyn,, the blast from the past was compliments of some low life spammer that dredged up about 10 of them from the archives LOL At least they serve some useful purpose when people get to see the older stuff :')
Nice pic of the Rosellas both of you .
They are lovely birds and so many great pics of them - I haven't seen the Adelaide ones, only the full crimson ones which we have up here (SE Queensland). We are in NE Victoria at the moemnt, so may have a chance to see some in the feather so to speak. Thanks for all the photos, so good to look at.

Well done Lyn.
For comparison a North Queensland Crimson race nigrescens, picture taken in rain forest on the Atherton Tablelands near Lake Eacham.
