How lovely i adore the butcher birds. The retirement village i work at has a resident butcher bird who greets me most days. I love their song. He doesnt like the maggies much he always chasing them away.
My son rescued a baby butcherbird from our dog. Half of one wing gone, bare patches on it's back :( . It has survived the night and I was wondering what to feed it. I will purchase some mealy worms this morning. Is raw mince too much as it is still very young?

Have a family of them at the local park, when I mimic the calls one flies across to investigate!
