I had a great session or two or three with a group near Richmond in the Hawkesbury last September. They were easy to approach in my car as I sneaked up slowly and could even get out and walk to within 4m of the perched owls. :)
One night I saw more than six individuals. This one had a broken leg five nights later. Here you can see the tail of a mouse hanging under its tail.
