Another visitor at the Barringtons Country Retreat. This was the first time we'd ever seen a Koel, but we had no idea at the time that that's what it was. I first spotted this bird in a tree, some way off from our cottage, and it was sitting absolutely stock still. Even through the binoculars I couldn't be sure it was actually a bird! And then it flew to our verandah and perched on the rail for a good 10 minutes or so, just looking around. A stunning bird - we'd never seen anything like it.
I assume this is a female?
