Juvenile scaly-breasted lrikeets

I was delighted to see a family of scaly-breasted lorikeets on our back lawn this afternoon. The juvenile scaly-breasted lorikeet sounds like a juvenile rainbow lorikeet and it has brown eyes like a juvenile rainbow lorikeet.

flickr, as I have for the last year. I just uploaded my original photos (without editing in picnik) onto flickr and they haven't posted either. Thee urls look different - shorter and there is something different about the numbers

Interesting - the small photo on my home page posted - it has a longer url than the larger copy I get when I click on it. It looks as if I'll have to post small photos - and I spent time cropping and resizing them all - until I work out what is going on

Hey Birdgirl
I think Flickr has changed something or our browsers have. i tried to right click and paste the image location and it didn't work for me at all. I had to open up the other sizes available and then do it. It has never happened to me before either.

Cute birds aren't they?

Thanks birdie
I'm glad I'm not the only one. I sent a query to both to ask if they have changed anything. It's very frustatrating when something that worked doesn't work any more for no apparent reason - especially the time wasted. I'll have another quick look - I noticed in Properties the Created and Modified have changed to today's date

Sorry about all the weird postings. I just joined photobucket to see if flickr was the problem, but nothing is coming up at all

Hi Birdgirl

What browser are you using?
I am using mozilla which has always been fine, but again today, I have to open the images up in the all sizes page in Flickr to be able to right click and get the copy image location info to paste into the post. Don't know what has changed.

Let me know what you find out

cheers

Hi Birdgirl, I had the same problem today... then read your posts (duh..I should have read them before...would have saved me wasting MY time too!)
Beautiful shots, seems to have worked with photobucket after all. They are amazingly bright colours.
You reminded me that I joined that too a while back so I might use them until Flickr get thier act together.

Use what talents you possess; the woods would be very silent if no birds sang there except those that sang best

Hi Birdgirl,

Thanks for posting the lovely photos. I see heaps of scaley-breasted lorikeets here in Brisbane, but it's interesting - I've never seen them on the ground. I always see them in flowering trees. Do you often see them on the ground?

Thanks,
Andy.

Hi Birdgirl (and Birdie)
Great shots, I also use Firefox (Mozilla)and Flickr, I have always used the 'all sizes' page and selected the size I want and then copied the address to post here, it has always worked. Not sure how you would know what size you are getting if you do it any other way??

HI Ed

I just posted in a new thread before reading this, but I used to just use the medium size that I chose as my main picture option. In other words the step before you go to the all sizes options.
Can't do it now so we have to do it your way. I am sure our fingers will handle the extra work!! Judging by some of the comments on the Flickr blogs you would think it was the end of the world!

I'm wondering now if something strange is happening with BIB. I have 4 emails which should be on this thread but are not, from Andy, Heva1, ed and birdie.
Andy - I have not seen them on the ground before; they usually visit when the bottlebrushes and gum trees are flowering.
Hev - I'll have one last go at posting the right size
ed and birdie - I had not noticed the 'all sizes' page until you mentioned it, ed. I just go to my home page, click on the photo I want and I get a bigger size of that photo alone. I use the url for that photo by right clicking and using 'Properties' and it turns out the right size on BIB. I'm going to try medium now - even if it works it is irritating to have to do so many extra clicks for every photo:

Oh, I've just noticed this thread went onto page 2 because of all my attempts to post - sorry BIB - all the replies are here ... and the photos posted at the right size!

These scenes are ones I get in my back garden, but your pics are very very clear and so well focused.
I appreciate them
