How were these photos set up, and captured, etc ???.

I don't know how. I can only marvel. Were they "set up"? Probably, in fact obviously, with the camera underwater prior to the bird arriving. However, I suspect that it was as a result of a lot of observation of the birds, rather than artificially creating the photo opportunity (as in a Zoo, or similar). Who knows? The story refers to a Lake in Germany, so presumably they are wild birds (and fish).

Gelmir and Ed: I noticed the Photographer was not credited by the Newspaper. I hope he got paid for his efforts. He/she deserves credit for these.
