I can't but wonder why Daryl Somers in his memorable TV show, Hey Hey it's Saturday named his sidekick Ozzie Ostrich instead of Ozzie Emu.
I shot these guys out the back of a tour bus at a dreadful place called ZooDoo near the town of Richmond in Tasmania. I don't like zoos but our grandson thought it was grouse, of course.
This I believe is an ostrich, a native of South Africa, a rello to our emu - I was so busy taking pictures that I wasn't really listening to the tour guide. Only when I compared them on my monitor did I see the difference.
Very sharp shots. Did you hear the lovely drumming noise the emus make?
