Hi Birdie, I live in the Penrith area at the foot of the Blue Mountains, NSW. I am lucky as we do have a nice variety of birds that visit and they certainly give the bird baths a good go.
I think the photos are great Scarlet. Its not always easy to get the best lighting especially when taken through a window. I love the one with the cuckoo. Saw a great programme on Cuckoos a while ago about how they encourage other birds to adopt them, it was fascinating. Again great shots.
Thank you Cath & Shane, I think I could have written that show about the cuckoo after watching those two. That poor little wren would be flat out all day finding food for that cuckoo. The cuckoo was so clever that it could mimic the wrens call. No matter where it was calling from you would see that little wren dart across the garden with a bug and feed it. Then one day hoo roo off it went. My wrens now are breeding again in the front garden so lets hope no cuckoos this time.
Wow Perthwings, that's twice this week I have to agree with you :)
This is not a kids playground, and that is what happens when kids without any common sense get hold of modern technology. Birdiee has apologised and I am very annoyed that a name as close to my own has been used in this way.
Thankfully we have some younger members on here who are of a different breed altogether.
i am soo sorry , when i created my account i didnt realise there was someone with a simalar name, please inform me if there is a way to change it. i've changed all my passwords now and my little sister will be taken care of.
sorry again
Awww now that hardly seems fair does it? Such a tiny little bird playing host to that!!!! Well caught

A nice set just a little soft on the first but good capture.
A Photo is only as good as the eyes that look at it.
It might be a little soft as it was taken through a window.

Fascinating - I didn't know cuckoos used wrens as hosts. Poor little wren - I hope it didn't have to feed its 'baby' for many weeks!
These photos tell a good story. Why on earth would a little thing like that think it could have a baby so big?
What do you mean by those last posts Birdiee?
Oxalis is not my friend
Ignore it BBN it's a hacker of some sort , we have notified Holly. either that or it is one of her kids.
