Well my boss learned a valuable lesson this afternoon-Never take me to an outdoor cafe in a beautiful setting (Lavender farm in Hepburn Springs Vic) surrounded by nature and birds and expect me to listen to business talk with a client... haha... exit stage left..me,armed with camera ...and returned an hour later with these captures!
magpie Yellow-Faced Honeyeaters (I think a young pair who appeared to be waiting for a parent to stop by and feed them) Grey Fantail
I may never be taken out for a 'business' lunch again :(

Love the yellow faced honeyeater shots, they look beautiful.
Nice shots, Hev. I would have wandered off too.

LMAO Hev.......... tops shots of the little fantails. You are so like me.... I can't concentrate on clients either if I hear a new call or something unusual I always have eyes swiveling everywhere. I actually have given up my "day job" by the way, at least for a while so I am concentrating even more on the birdlife. Can't believe I am getting bored with Catbirds now! :)
So what kind of work takes you to a pretty lavender farm cafe I'm wondering?!

My pick is the first Yellow-faced Honeyeater. :)
thanks windhover:)
Birdie, I am a PA to a financial planner for the last couple of years, a big change from my preveious life as a trainer of guide dogs for blind clients. Had to get used to being in an office instead of outside all day and I miss the outdoors.... so any opportunity I get to see clients out of the office I readily accept, and to go to the lavender farm was a big bonus, but probably not one I will get to enjoy again haha!
Just been to Rutherglen for the weekend, and saw about 10 rainbow bee eaters along the Murray river, wow they are beautiful birds, will share my weekend bird pics tonight.
What was your 'day job'?
Now.... just 'cos you're bored with catbirds, we're not! you just keep sharing your pics:)
Use what talents you possess; the woods would be very silent if no birds sang there except those that sang best
Ha ha, I'm not really bored :) there are just so many around the haunts that I see at the moment. I posted a pic in my thread showing them nest building so I will hopefully have some more to offer. trouble is, now that the rains have come, the vegetation over the back fence is growing by about 6 inches a day and it's blocking my camera. ( Will have to get out there with a long pair of secateurs !)
I was working as a salesperson in a retirement resort under construction. Got transferred to another location further inland from the coast - hot as hell. Great birding location but there won't be any sales there for a long time and I was stressing out with the company. At least it gives me some bird watching time for a while :)
