Also at Gould's Lagoon this little guy perched just long enough for a few quick shots. Not close enough for a more detailed capture.
.
Although I have a folder full of Rosellas I couldn't resist the splash of colour.

Nice shots, Tark. I wish we had a co-operative bunch of birds like these.... Can't seem to get near the Eastern Rosellas around here.
Cheers,

I love all the photos Tark - How good are you to get the swallow! And the Rosella looks so healthy.
they are very alluring..

George, Eastern Rosellas are so thick around here that if you dropped your camera and the shutter went off accidentally, you'd probably end up with an award winning shot. My theory is that a large percentage of them are eco refugees from VIC, NSW and QLD that hitched a ride on the "Spirit of Tasmania" along with its human cargo - I think they should all be sent to detention centres until we find out exactly who they are! ;o))
.
Lyn - I was more lucky than good that it chose to land within range of my lens. I had been watching it flying around erratically for a while as swallows do. And yes, the Rosella does appear to be in very good shape - must be all that clean green Tassie food it's eating!
.
Steve - I guess that's what he's trying to be - it's spring, remember!
