Great shots Richard..... love the WWFW.... have never heard of them till now..... you are lucky being in the centre...or did you find that somewhere in your travels
Thanks for all the comments. Birdie, the answer to youir question is both. Saw them first in WA but we have them here too, in fact saw a small family today about 20 kms south of Alice Springs.

I haven't seen a WWFW either and I'd love to see it one day.
I have only seen a red backed once in Brisbane.
Cheers, Owen.
Just beautiful!
What a joy to firstly see and then be able to photograph them.
They are stunning. THey must be some of the most beautiful of the fairy-wrens. I haven't heard of or seen them either, so thanks so much for sharing
I will attempt to upload a pic of a WWFW I spotted 75 klms east of Border Village SA on 15 Sept 2011 during our around OZ trip .
The Wren was chasing off finches from his patch on the nullabor coast. One down (finch) one to go.
I am a newby to this , so I hope it works
What a delightful little bird. Stunning colours. So he is not phased by the zebras at all? Puts them in their place? Good to see.

Wow what a sight they must be to see in the wild, the colours would radiate and nice photos as well.
